MAX MOREAU

ACTOR

Max Moreau is an aspiring actor from the town of Mystic Falls. A familiar face on the stage at the local playhouse, Max is also a nonstop gossip. This performer is a slow eater with an irrational fear of table salt and must consume food in alphabetical order.

Max landed the lead role in the Mystic Falls Playhouse Theater's play, A Gnome's Tale. Unfortunately, the debut of the play is scheduled on the same night as the Mystic Falls Talent Show.  What will Max do? Which will Max choose?

Talent routine last year: came in 3rd place by reciting a dramatic version of Green Eggs & Ham by Dr. Seuss.

Suggested attire: you can do any talent routine you wish. If you do the same routine as last year: wear a Dr. Seuss-inspired costume.

 

NOBEL UMBRIDGE

TALENT AGENT

Nobel Umbridge would debate anyone about anything – even experts in their fields. With an irrational fear of germs, this talent agent holds their breath after anyone coughs or sneezes. Nobel bores easily, and this sometimes causes this talent scout to find trouble.

Nobel represents actors, singers, and musicians and promises them future fame and fortune. However, Nobel is also an aspiring star. Rumor has it that Nobel only agrees to represent talented people to keep them from competing with Nobel for acting jobs! 

Talent routine last year: did not place last year with the recreation of the dance in the Napoleon Dynamite movie.

Suggested attire: you can do any talent routine you wish. If you do the same routine as last year: wear a Napoleon Dynamite costume  Vote for Pedro shirt, red curly, wig, glasses, jeans, and black moon boots.

 

EDEN CRIMSON

FITNESS GURU

Eden Crimson is a fitness guru who is obsessed with reality television. Eden prefers a messy environment and believes things that are too clean are unhealthy. An energetic yoga instructor, Eden must tap on surfaces to spend excess energy.

Eden has been begging Dr. Black, the talent show organizer, to reschedule the talent show for a Tuesday night - as there are no great shows for Eden on that day. However, Dr. Black has ignored all of Eden's requests. 

Talent routine last year: did not place last year with a fitness workout routine to hip-hop music.

Suggested attire: you can do any talent routine you wish. If you do the same routine as last year: wear ‘80s style workout attire.

 

NOX NOCTURNE

ICECREAM TRUCK DRIVER

Nox Nocturne drives an ice cream truck in the town of Mystic Falls. Nox gets up with the sun to wash the truck, as things can’t be clean enough for this entrepreneur. Nox doesn’t sleep much, as s/he’s also a night owl and prefers the soft light of a candle.

Nox has won the Mystic Falls Talent Show for the last three years. Nox is very proud of the winning streak. Sources say that Nox hasn't had much time to prepare for the talent contest this year. It might be the year of upset for Nox! 

Talent routine last year: won last year’s talent contest with a standup comedy routine.

Suggested attire: you can do any talent routine you wish. If you do the same routine as last year: wear an ice-cream-inspired costume.

 

FINN FROST

AUTHOR

Finn Frost has an irrational fear of cracks in things, such as the sidewalk. With an active mind, this author constantly doodles and scribbles mindlessly. With a Gothic style, Finn is always seen wearing black and has a pet raven.

Some question whether it is fair for Finn Frost to compete in the Mystic Falls Talent Show because Finn is cousins with Dr. Black - the event organizer and host. 

Talent routine last year: received one of the five gold stars mentions last year by reciting a passage from a murder mystery novel.

Suggested attire: you can do any talent routine you wish. If you do the same routine as last year: wear gothic/poet attire.

 

HENLEY HEXX

ZOOLOGIST

Henley Hexx always glances upward during conversations as if reading from a teleprompter in the ceiling. Henley is colorblind and wears mismatched clothing. The head zookeeper at the Mystic Falls Zoo, Henley regurgitates movie quotes on command. Henley’s weakness is a great difficulty making decisions.

Henley Hexx recently built a million dollar habitat for panda bear rescues. Currently, Henley has a pregnant panda named Sally who can give birth any day now! 

Talent routine last year: did not place last year by bringing in five animals and talking about them.

Suggested attire: you can do any talent routine you wish. If you do the same routine as last year: wear a safari/adventurer costume – don’t match your clothes/shoes, as you are colorblind.

 

NORTH BLITZ

CHEF

North Blitz is an executive chef who can only eat at the top of the hour. An environmentalist on a mission to save the Earth - North refuses to waste. Chef Blitz has a peculiar accent that changes and will not tell anyone where s/he grew up. North is obsessive and cannot have anything set on an odd number.

North is obsessed with saving the environment and has asked Dr. Black, the event organizer of the talent show, to go 100% electronic and not use paper for promotional materials. However, Dr. Black has ignored North's request and is proceeding with paper programs for the event. 

Talent routine last year: did not place last year by preparing 1-minute guacamole – including a judge’s tasting.

Suggested attire: you can do any talent routine you wish. If you do the same routine as last year: wear a chef’s uniform.

 

KIPLING ZORG

GUITARIST

Kipling Zorg is fixated on the smell of things and must sniff all items, including people. This guitarist stands on their head each morning to improve circulation. Kipling gets the hiccups when nervous, and laughs at everything – even if it’s not funny.

Kipling has been the lead guitarist for the band, The Tigers - a punk band known for acting like wild animals while they perform.  Kipling just released a solo album titled Kipling's Tunes and is having a hard time with the launch. Winning this talent show and getting a spot on World Talent Watch would do wonders for Kipling's solo album!

Talent routine last year: came in 2nd place last year by performing Beethoven’s 5th Symphony via electric guitar.

STASS SWEENEY

DANCE INSTRUCTOR

Stass is a classically-trained dancer who walks on tiptoes out of pure habit. This instructor cannot tolerate messy hair and will finger brush anyone’s locks in disarray. Stass is emotional and cries at the smallest thing. Stass also pretends to be an expert on everything. 

Stass had a crying fit during the award ceremony last year at the talent show because of the 4th place result. Everyone hopes that Stass can keep it together and dry up the tears this year. 

Talent routine last year: came in 4th place last year with a contemporary jazz routine to the song Memory (1981 from the musical Cats).

SAGE TEMPUS

FASHION DESIGNER

Sage Tempus is an up and coming fashion designer from Paris, France. Sage shakes out both legs before sitting and refuses to walk in the direction s/he just came from.  Sage can’t stand for the room to be silent. If faced with silence, Sage will recoil into a fetal position on the floor until noise returns.

Sage is set to release the Tempus Fashion Line in New York City at the International Fashion Expo.  Sage was given an exclusive opportunity to show the line! However, the fashion show in NYC is set for the same date as the Mystic Falls Talent Show. Which will Sage choose to attend? 

Talent routine last year: did not place last year with a routine of modeling clothes from their fashion line.

BINX BUTTONS

PILOT

With adversity to warm liquids, Binx Buttons avoids hot showers, warm cocoa, and soups. A loud chewer, Captain Buttons is a commercial pilot for Budget Airlines.  Binx refuses to use slang and will correct others if they use ‘trash speech.’

Binx created an online petition after last year's contest because Binx only got an honorable mention, which Dr. Black refers to as a 'gold star mention.'  Binx claims to be the only one at the event who knows how to fly a plane, and that a talent routine of lecturing on how to fly a plane should win. However, many disagree with Binx, and the petition only received five signatures - all from Binx's family. During Binx's performance, over two-thirds of the audience left to get popcorn in the foyer. The routine was downright boring!

DREE DEVILLE

NURSE

A daydreamer who often zones out, Dree Deville is a nurse who always wants a hug. Dree Deville works in the emergency room at the Mystic Falls General Hospital. Dree‘s a caring soul with many close friends. 

Friends closest to Dree say that Dree might not show up to the event this year. Dree's boss is refusing to give Dree the day off for the talent show. Rumor has it that Dree's boss just doesn't want Dree to get famous and quit the hospital. Everyone loves Dree! 

Talent routine last year: did not place last year by demonstrating on an orange how to give stitches.

OLLY OMEGA

NANNY

They say talking to oneself is a sign of intelligence, but Olly Omega has full conversations. This nanny must be a genius! Olly defends that s/he is only saying things aloud to remember them, as a nanny’s job is detail-oriented with schedules. Olly bites fingernails obsessively when nervous.

Olly takes care of a busy family with five children. Olly hardly ever gets away, so those closest to this nanny are sending positive vibes in hopes that Olly will be able to fit the talent show into a tight schedule of fixing meals, doing laundry, and taxiing five kids to and from school and after-school activities! 

Talent routine last year: did not place last year with a performance of Hard Knock Life from Little Orphan Annie.

Suggested attire: you can do any talent routine you wish.If you do the same routine as last year: wear a Little Orphan Annie-inspired costume.

 

QUINN DOOM

RACECAR DRIVER

Quinn Doom continuously smacks on a huge wad of bubblegum and refuses to share any of the gum stash with friends. With a southern accent, Quinn is a risk taker who grunts constantly.  Quinn is a professional stock car racer for Smirshy Motorsports.

Quinn is a popular driver and drives a stock car with a candy paint job, as most of Quinn's sponsors are candy corporations. All kids can relate to Quinn's car! 

Talent routine last year: came in 5th place last year with an acapella performance of Performed Bohemian Rhapsody.

Suggested attire: you can do any talent routine you wish.If you do the same routine as last year: wear a racecar driver’s uniform.

 

REED MUDLARK

FAST FOOD COOK

When not at work at the Food Barn, Reed can be seen around town wearing bright clothing and over-sized sunbonnets. With an outgoing personality, Reed always appears to be angry but claims to be in a great mood. Reed insists on avoiding mirrors and puts sheets over them each night before bed.

Reed has requested that Dr. Black remove all mirrors from the Mystic Falls Event Center (where the talent show is being held). Reed claims mirrors are bad luck. However, Dr. Black has ignored Reed's request thus far. 

Talent routine last year: did not place last year with a performance of a Shakespeare monologue.

SALVY VADER

BIOLOGIST

A modern-day mad scientist, Salvy has a photographic memory, genius IQ, and only eats green-colored candy. Salvy works for Medline, Incorporated – a pharmaceutical research company. Salvy performs as a mime on Main Street every Saturday as a hobby. 

Salvy Vader threatened to picket the talent show this year because of the gold star mention (i.e. honorable mention) last year. Salvy thought the mime routine was a guaranteed first place winner, but the judges disagreed. However, Salvy turned in the sign-up form and paid the $20.00 entry fee to participate in the contest this year. Dr. Black assumes Salvy decided against picketing the event.
